- Find the house valve. Look where the line enters — exterior wall, garage, or near the water heater.
- Turn it off. Clockwise until it stops. Do not force a frozen valve until it snaps.
- Use the meter if needed. The city shutoff is at the front of the property. A meter key helps; do not pry with a screwdriver if you do not have to.
- Confirm. Open a faucet. If flow has not stopped, call us before you break the stem.
