How To

If a pipe bursts

Water off, people out of the wet room, then call. We will talk you through the next step.

  1. 1

    Find the house valve

Look where the line enters — exterior wall, garage, or near the water heater.

  2. 2

    Turn it off

Clockwise until it stops. Do not force a frozen valve until it snaps.

  3. 3

    Use the meter if needed

The city shutoff is at the front of the property. A meter key helps; do not pry with a screwdriver if you do not have to.

  4. 4

    Confirm

Open a faucet. If flow has not stopped, call us before you break the stem.

Water on the floor? Call now.

We come to the house. No shop to visit. $95 to come look — waived if we do the work. Licensed, insured, 24/7 for bursts and overflows.

Before the plumber arrives

Know where your main shutoff is (usually near the meter at the front of the property, or where the line enters the house) and keep the area around the water heater, the sinks and any cleanouts clear so we can get straight to work. Take a quick photo of any leak, stain or error code, and note when the problem started and whether it is getting worse. If water is actively spreading, shut off the main first, then call; we answer 24/7 for bursts and overflows.
